Re: Solar Power

I haven't thought too much about solar yet because first we'd need to better insulate our house and think what to do under the roof first - can we use the extra space?
But I know from my sister that...

Pulaski, thanks for the explanation. So it really matters whether I get 404 or 412 HUF for your € ...
A bit OT:
I still remember when I was in Canterbury in the 60s for an English course and the...

Re: I hate Hungarian drivers!

Used to happen to me too on the M1 to Budapest - though often cars from Austria, Slovakia, Romania.
I had the feeling these were "successful" Hungarians who live outside Hungary.
Here near...

I've followed the value of the HUF compared to the € for a long time on XE - and it's become crazy!
Often early in the morning the € value is almost 10 HUF more than in the evening, 415 to 405.
And...

Re: Why do house sellers do CRAZY price increases

Here near the Danube and Esztergom north of Budapest prices are also exploding - but there are still many "ruins" relatively cheap if you can do at least part of the modernization yourself.
We moved...

But there are also people who drive, buy and sell mainly older BMWs etc which...

Re: I hate Hungarian drivers!

Just to clear up potential misunderstandings:
When I got my driver's licence on a beetle 60 years ago the situation in Germany was similar or maybe even worse.
Radar helped a bit, every driver...

Re: I hate Hungarian drivers!

Paul overtaking in situations where a normal driver would stay behind seems to be a hobby of some people.
Even if after 50 m they are stuck behind the next "slow driver" which just follows the...

I hate Hungarian drivers!

Of course not all of them, but there's a large number driving like crazy.
Our street has parking cars on both sides, sometimes the bus which passes every hour has to wait because of some idiot.
And...

Re: Kánikula

Re: Kánikula

We don't believe in those weather forecasts, especially when they are concerning the future ...
Here's one that says we'll soon have only 15 degrees max on Monday 11 July!...

Re: Plans for our new part roofed terrace.

Getting a bit OT:
Do you know that dead trees are a nourishing and breeding ground for many animal species, insects eg?
We try to leave them as long as possible or make a pile of dead wood...

Re: Plans for our new part roofed terrace.

Don't know the number, it's on top of Rozsadomb and there's a small forest nearby called Ferenc Hegy, very nice for a walk.
Of course it wasn't cheap, now???

Re: I really hate Hungarian dog owners

Good news!
Maybe you remember my story about Satan, the poor dog having to stay in a small kennel 24 hours because the owner had a few goats running free ?
Now our neighbour solved that problem:...

Re: Korhaz Heivz

But...

Re: Utilities in Hungary

There is also a price cap on some groceries e.g. cooking oil, white flour and granulated white sugar.
The effect of this is that neither our Lidl nor the Tesco had sugar and sunflower oil for...
