Homestay students are not illegals - they are permitted by Canadian education authorities and have visa's and bring much needed money to Canada. There are regular checks to monitor living...

I don't think you will have any trouble entering but your problem will be you are only allowed to leave once you have served your sentence which is likely to be longer than the maximum visa you are...
