not sure if serious - but she probably has a point.

canadians seem to prefer employing canadians, your brother however may not face this as most of his likely employers are likely to be expats

a UK graduate should be able to work in NS, the problem might be getting offered a post, I don't think there are many practitioners there, which might limit opportunities.

You need to speak to the provincial nomination office, you will also need to get a new work permit, and the post will need to be validated by HRDC. I did this and due to the extenuating...

it was only on returning to work in the nhs that I really appreciated the strengths of the UK system over the canadian one.

Well, there are included buffets and soft drinks always available, you could go bonkers on the bar bill and spend a lot. proper sit down meals are included, iirc there are some pay extra restaurants...
