My parents had the same thought when they moved to Oakville in the late 80s, and all the same reasons as above and in Oak's post is why my husband and I chose to stay in Oakville to raise our kid...

Yes, completely agree! I clarified in my post above which I think posted at the same time as yours. My comment was specifically in the context of commuting.

Oakville, Burlington, Milton all come to mind as possibilities.
