Re: Work for tradesman in Ontario

Tradesmen are in short supply everywhere in Canada. Once you have your visa and your Canadian qualifications, you can basically live anywhere you want to.

I live in a small town of 3000 people...

Re: Waste / Energy From Waste

You used to be a practicing electrician presumably. You no longer are. You are a manager of a group of technical people. There are countless jobs for managers in numerous different industries.

Re: Vancouver suburbs for family move

I hardly think I have mistaken Scarborough for the Beach dbd33, you're getting a bit carried away with yourself. Don't be ridiculous and try to tell me I didn't live in the Beach for 15 years or...

Re: Vancouver suburbs for family move

All reasons scilly why I would not want to live in Vancouver (or any city). I understand why people live in a city or suburb because they have to for practical reasons. I grew up in the city of...

Re: Canadian housing

Who cares what enters the head of a new house builder dbd33, I'm talking about you or anyone else trying to sell a house you bought, not a builder trying to sell a new house to someone.

Foreign...

Canadian housing

Many new immigrants are interested in what to expect as far as housing when they come to Canada, so I thought it might be of interest to talk about some things in that regard.

The first thing that...

Re: Waste / Energy From Waste

I live quite close to a university run, energy from biomass pilot plant. So from my perspective I would certainly say that it is an area of interest and is being explored in various ways and has...

Re: Canada's vacation politics

Yes that's true Jsmth321 but it doesn't change what generally comes to mind when someone says, 'franchise business' does it? Is my take on what 'franchise business' generally indicates, reason for...

Re: Canada's vacation politics

Siouxie, why don't you name the specific kind of franchise jobs you are referring to and the position that pays $75k and requires a degree (in what by the way).

As I wrote, franchise jobs...

Re: Canada's vacation politics

Yeah, I suspected that was what was being referred to johntheScot. In the UK, I am aware that the term Engineer is not as defined as in Canada. In Canada, you cannot (or could not while I was still...

Re: Canada's vacation politics

Franchise jobs generally indicate to me low skill jobs at any level, so I would discount that example as a 'who cares who gets those jobs.' I can see nepotism being able to work in those cases and...

Re: UK car hire CDW fees

No doubt things will vary depending on how the third party coverage someone has works dbd33. Some may require you to phone them and then they will deal directly with the rental company. Some will...

Re: Vancouver suburbs for family move

Well, you are not necessarily limited to big cities and you could maybe even forget airport commute times while getting lower house prices if you just think a bit more out of the box.

If your...

Re: UK car hire CDW fees

It seems quite clear that their agents are simply lying about it being required and using, 'you can't take the car without it' because they know they've got you over a barrel.

The rental company...

Really, you are trying to ask a question for which there is no real answer. A place that one person suggests as 'nice' is just as likely to be a place that someone else suggests is the last place...
