You called dear?

I would be an IP Network Solutions Designer should I be accepted for the position.

There will be some other selection to do once this 3rd interview is out of the way, but I'm...

I'm aware that Canada has quotas on immigration but does anyone know if they are on each mission or if they are on individual countries.

Re: Getting Work Permit

There is a rather useful website, the website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada which has this and other information on Canadian immigration:

Re: How long does backgrand check take?

Looking at recent and not so recent history it's ironic that they spend up to 15 months doing this to PR applicants while waving through refugees and fake refugees with somewhat less than savoury...

Re: LANDING ..Please advice

You're too kind.

My language was swear-word free and my apologies if the truth hurts as it evidently does as you've no reasoning behind it....

Re: LANDING ..Please advice

Any particular reason why you're getting PR status but not actually intending to become resident until 2009?

I'm pretty sure that that's not allowed and that you should be stripped of the PR...

Re: How long are we expected to wait. CHC are so bad mannered!

It is somewhat ironic that Canada witters on about wanting to attract the best immigrants in the world, etc, etc, yadda, yadda but from the UK's point of view anyway those who apply now have the...

Re: Regarding Work Permits

Looking at the processing times applying through Buffalo would hold no benefit, is this infact the case or are there other issues I haven't seen?

Regarding Work Permits

May I have a moment of your time please guys, might be one for Mr Miller.

If I were working on a work permit in Canada am I correct to assume that I must submit a PR application as per normal to...

Re: CANADA - anyone know good IT Job sites?

Hi Neil, please call me Carl.

I should mention that Monster.ca / .uk / .wherever is all the same database so those searches may be UK companies and their searches are generating the calls you are...

Re: Alberta Is On A Mission For Skilled Workers!

As others have said extremely strange that they are doing this with the existing issues with regards to processing times.

Perhaps PNP is part of the deal?

Re: CANADA - anyone know good IT Job sites?

And a hell of a lot colder :D

That's like asking really what the difference is between the UK and Australia / New Zealand, would take a lot more time than I have right now to answer properly so...

Re: Describe -35

Totally agree, dry cold and dry heat feel far less extreme than the dampness that often accompanies our weather here.

Re: Describe -35

Initially you don't feel anything then if you're not protected properly you begin to feel what can only be described as a burning sensation slowly getting worse ;)

So long as there's not too much...

Despite previous disagreements I agree with you in the above 100% - great post.

Re: Skilled Workers Earn a Pittance in Canada.

'Arrogrant Brits' are a standing joke in Canada. There may be a few exceptions but looking at this and other forums, along with the stories related to me those who have a fairly painless time getting...

Re: Telecom Professional for sale at negotiable price

That would be me :)

The networking / telecomms industry in the UK is quite strong at the moment for the right people. Put your CV on Monster and that should get some attention.

There are...

Re: CANADA - anyone know good IT Job sites?

Going my previous experience and that of others as far as Canada goes I'd consider looking for a miracle rather than a jobsite.

Suffice to say it's very hard to get employment in IT in Canada...

Re: IT Industry Canada - Munted?

I see, I wasn't aware of this.

I don't think I've been that unlucky, the only unlucky part being the frustration in the middle of last year. In the grand scheme of things my patience isn't always...

Re: IT Industry Canada - Munted?

I've actually spent two years 'networking' with Canadians, that's how I nearly got hired last year. I networked by assisting them with some issues, we worked in similar industries and I had...

I've certainly looked through a few of those posts.

I'm beginning to question whether it's all such a good idea after reading those kind of experiences.

Perhaps I should reconsider, the job...

Re: IT Industry Canada - Munted?

Not quite :) I was just referring to some recruiters' habit of requiring a degree whatever else is on the page, and ignoring those without one.

In the IT industry here for sure there were a lot of...
