Re: Moved to US in tax year question

Hi.

We moved mid year too (me in July, my USC husband in June). I was self-employed in the UK until July.

And in my simple layman terms...

We just worked with a CPA in Florida to file our...

Re: Cancelling return flight after entering the US on a K-1

I did the same thing. Moved to the US in July and booked a round trip (with the return the following may). Essentially looked like I was going on a 10 month holiday!
Then I found a one way from the...

Re: looking for a room to rent in St Pete Florida area

Hi,

I'd recommend renting somewhere through airbnb. There are some great (flexible) rentals in St Pete on airbnb. Depends how much you want to spend of course, but that'd be a gapped place to...

Re: Florida Fact finding

I think the best way to relate Florida weather to the U.K. (Which I know sounds ridiculous), is to view the summer here like the winter in the U.K.
Seriously most people hide indoors from may to...

Re: Second thoughts.

We moved to Florida in July. Mostly I've just kept moving forward, but there have definitely been times I've missed friends and family desperately. One of the things that has helped me is just being...

Re: Contact lenses

When I moved to the States last summer I brought 6 months of contact lenses with me. Glad I did, as it was one less thing to sort in the first few months of moving. Tests are way more pricey here,...

Re: How to 'deal' with moving?

We moved in July last year. Similar situation - husband is a usc and timing was right for us. I certainly haven't regretted our choice - we've loved being here. But there have been ups and downs. ...

Re: working remotely

You can get a U.K. Number through Skype and then buy a monthly call package to make the calls. I pay $6.99 month for couple hundred minutes to U.K. Land or mobiles. And I pay an annual fee for the...

Re: UK kids 'move down' a year in the US?!

Hi there,
We moved to the US this summer. Our kiddo was 10 years old and had just finished year 5 in the uk. When we moved here we were given the choice to either have him go straight into 6th grade...

Re: Recommendations of US Tax Accountant

Thanks - I'll pm you. We are in Tampa, but are in St Augustine a lot (with family), so that might work out well.

Recommendations of US Tax Accountant

Hi!

We (USC and UKC) moved from the UK to Florida in July. We had a tax accountant we used when we lived in the UK, who we were hoping would help us file tax returns for this year (as it's gonna...

Re: Moving to Tampa in Sept. Here's my plan and concerns.

Yup! I think of Florida summer like our (uk) winter. So 3 months or so when we'll hide out indoors. But, with a pool and / or the beach it is a little easier.
Looking for a car was pretty hellish...

Hi,
We (UKC, USC, and kiddo) just moved to Tampa last month. Within 5 weeks, we now have a great home, credit cards and 2 cars. We're loving Tampa ( although we have lived here before, so knew what...
