Don't think the flies have been as bad this year as previous years. Could be due to the extremely dry weather. Besides good swatters are only 59 cents from Safeway.

People might not want 24 hour shopping, but I certainly wouldn't mind restocking my freezer after 4pm on a Sunday. Our Safeway is open till midnight on a Sunday, which is great.

This explains why Aussies round here, slow down to a virtual halt or stop at roundabouts even when there is nothing obviously coming. Frustrating when you are in a hurry though.

The first day of winter - June 1 - it got to 16.8C in the City and 15.4C on 2 June. There was over 4 hours of sun and 0mm of rain. Would you get that on 21 December in the UK. I think not.

Apparently it got to 33C in London in June last year and it got to 38C in Gravesend in August the year before. Why does everyone only remember 1976 as the only hot summer the UK ever had?

The Oz equiv of Sky is Foxtel and they have a UKTV channel which has Eastenders and Corrie and other UK progs, but I'm afraid the short answer to your question is no.
