I love working them, get far more work done cos there are less interruptions!

I do agree though, regular staff ( as opposed to shift workers) rarely do weekends, but its not unknown to see visa...

Sometimes

Some staff may sometimes work weekends but there is no way of knowing who, or what subclass they may be working on.

Processing times are calculated in business days as weekend work is...

You can't "move" permanently without a permanent visa. You can get tourist visas and visit, you can come alone on a 417, but to move with an eye to staying permanently you need the PR granted.

If you are in Australia on a 417 then your dependent child must remain offshore.

No.
Reason being that your child is going with you, and one of the rules for a 417 is that you cannot be accompanied by dependent children.

If its as bad as it sounds then it may be that no airline will take him, and he'll have to travel on a specifically medical chartered flight. Thats serious money ( as I'm sure you know)
