But you are not living in Austria. Transition period ends 31 Dec 2020. Thereafter rules change.

My understanding is that you won't be covered by the WA when you move after 31 Jan 2020 which has passed. No S1 or pension increase. Look up UK in Austria on Brit. Embassy Vienna website. Or BMI...

Medical insurance in the EU is compulsory to have: either private cover, cover through your job, or you need to pay voluntary contributions which are based on your income through freelance work,...

Under EU Free Movement rule anybody can move. No discrimination. However, you have to bring your own medical insurance unless you have employment which in most countries will give you insurance. Free...

What makes you think hospitals on a national health cover are better elsewhere in Europe? Go for private care and you get better.

How my husband (he is the Brit in our family) understood is that unless you lived in an EU country at the time of Brexit (31 Jan 2020) you do not qualify for S1 cover and yearly pension increase....
