Thanks Helen - so far all the challenger banks (Atom, Shawbrook, Al Rayan, etc ) where I currently spread my funds have told me I will have to close any accounts should I no longer be a UK resident....

I’m still not certain about when I’ll become resident in France but I plan to sell my UK home in the fourth quarter of this year with a view to moving totally in January…..

Ive just spoken to Halifax and have now been told I can keep my account exactly as it is but just need to inform them of my new correspondence address in France.

My latest quest is to find a bank in this country (UK) that will happily accept me as a non resident and will do simple things like let my pension/s get paid into it...

I was wondering if I still get an “allowance” on that UK pension and therefore only pay tax in UK on the amount that is over said allowance when I become a French resident....
