I think in my situation (ve 2 little ones), renting a property on a 6 months lease and then extending it as needed, will be a better and cheaper option.
This way my kids can join the local schools...

Yeah, true. Also in Chicago there isnt much inventory on the housing market and the prices seem high.

Unlike UK, there is more of a risk of falling in negative equity in the US. So I am gonna...

Once upon a time i got mine evaluated by WES and it was pretty straightforward (mine was a 4 yrs german degree though and it got evaluated as equivalent to a US Bachelor degree)

Yep, i ve been a regular at my Local Wyevale garden center’s sales aisle. Have also been trying to resurrect plants from Morrisons dodgy plant section for many years :)

How are you using your 230 v UK TV in the US, where voltage is 120 V?

The only new requirement is to have a negative covid test in the UK, which is to be done...

Its a permanent move.

I have a 5 bed house to vacate here, so even if i leave electronics and big furniture items like beds (due to size compatibility issues with the US bed sizes) and wardrobes...

May be its worth contacting WES for evaluating. They are specialists for exactly this and their evaluations are normally accepted by most US unis and colleges.

This may save you some years/credit...

i was actually comparing them with my local Morrisons :)
Thanks to Brexit uncertainty the food prices have gone up in England too. “Small” shopping trips to Supermarket are often 50£ onwards.

Yeah i noticed that too during recent visits to the US. I wonder why that’s the case because US has plenty of agricultural land and GM crops etc
