Re: This may be useful to some non residents

I spent time talking to them a few years back..... when I said I had zero interest in jacking in my UK investments in favour of a euro-bond they were touting, the conversations came to an end. There...

Re: 2nd hand car sales dealer required - need to buy a car ASAP

Second-hand cars are very expensive in Portugal. For that kind of money, you are probably looking at a basic, small car over 10 years old.
Due to the need to offer a warranty, few dealers will touch...

Re: rain + storms

In September I was seriously concerned for the turtles as I could see the bottom of our barragem - but Compadre Cágado is smarter than that and buried himself in the mud. After all this rain, the...

Re: The Christmas Thread

A bit off topic (aren't we all?!!) but for my 50th we went to Santiago de Compostela, not because of any religious leanings, but because anywhere that has been visited by people for over 1000 years...

Re: The great big Electile Dysfunction thread....

Yep. That's my issue..... not the day-to-day politics, not even Brexit - but the apparent lack of concern amongst people for things which do not directly concern them and their willingness to accept...

Re: Esquentador with Solar hot water question

Yes, I've found it quite shocking that people seem totally unaware of the amount of electricity consumed as "backup" in the winter months. When I requested that my solar system be connected to my...

Re: Esquentador with Solar hot water question

So, you're now concerned about the solar system...... there are many reasons why this may not be as efficient as it could be. I've wittered on about this before, but how has your accumulator been set...

Re: What has p*ssed you off today...part II

Umm, dancing on the head of a pin again! In MY business a contractor working "full time" for the company is still a private business. They are responsible for their own accounts, etc., unlike...

Re: What has p*ssed you off today...part II

Problem is, the law doesn't work that way......
Exposing your child to possibly being hit by a car by buying a house near to a busy road isn't a crime either......

Re: Brexit Party, how long will it last ?

Yes, in a UK court.... The UK was NOT, however, unable to require registration of foreign nationals or proof that they were not likely to be a burden on the state as is fully acceptable under EU law...
