I don't think we tried them outside of the flat, they were just for the cold feet in bed. That wouldn't have been actually cold, not enough for power loss from batteries. I'm afraid I don't know...

At the time I had a pregnant wife. She said pregnancy made her feet cold in bed so the socks seemed an ideal joke present to bring back from Nawlins. Alas, the batteries rendered them impractical as...

Batteries. They had little pockets on the top for batteries.

I once bought a pair of electrically heated socks there, just for the weirdness.
