Re: Are there problems with Yahoo ?

Mrs M always checks out Yahoo news and the last few weeks she has had lots of issues - using a couple of different computers and a couple of different browsers. Not sure if that's related.

Re: Which wireless router?

Depends on what you need but I find either the D-Link G604T (which I use at home) or the Netgear DG834 to be the best value around to be honest.

I hear lots of people recommending Linksys because...

Re: computer virus! (moved to The Lab)

Try Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php). It's one of the few products that seems to actually get rid of these nasties.

Re: How to make cheap phone calls to the UK

OK if the auto-attendant told you 192.168.2.7, then that's what it should be. It would pay to leave it on dynamic until you have got into it proper. Turn the thing off then back on, then go for...

Re: finding all my pictures to put on DVD

Start --> Search and set options to search My Computer and look for files called:

*.jpg;*.bmp;*.gif;*.tif

You could probably just do *.jpg as that's what most people use anyway.

Re: How to make cheap phone calls to the UK

I thought that would be the case but I've made a few calls with it now and the lag is no worse than a POTS call, and the call quality is great - I haven't even got around to configuring QoS on my...

Re: How to make cheap phone calls to the UK

Before you do that, bear in mind that you can leave most of those settings as is to be honest. The important ones to try are:

Proxy: localphone.com
Outbound proxy: proxy.localphone.com
Use...
