Re: Country/Rural Living

From the funky water and the heaps of mozzies, you may find that your tanks lid is loose or missing, and the mozzies have been using the tank water to breed. If light is getting in to the tank you...

Had this eight years ago, when we came through, but then it was right index fingerprint scanned only. A complete infringement of your civil liberties! And for what? To "catch terrorists"... and how...

Re: Shipping - Sydney to Wellington

We did the same move about 8 years ago - I won't tell you who we used because they applied that brown sticky tape directly to suede sofas, AND they nicked our deep fat fryer! We did find out that it...

Re: What the hell is going on with Coke?

No - they want to charge us the same price for less product.

It's the same with Mars Bars, Wagonwheels, bags of rice, you name it. Shrink the product, leave the price 'as is'.

Re: shipping scuba equipment

Going off a ten year old memory here, so double check this: I brought my tank over in my container. Just dropped the pressure to 50psi. Then, when i got here I found that I couldn't use the tank...

Re: Housing bubble? Where's your money?

Good to know. Mind you, I think MOST of the posters and bloggers have an axe to grind - otherwise why would they go to the time, trouble and expense of setting up a website...?

Re: Housing bubble? Where's your money?

You know, you're right. Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. At one stage I didn't listen to the news or read a newspaper, to avoid the negativity. I figured that if it got bad enough...

Re: Housing bubble? Where's your money?

Is it possible that you're thinking in too narrow a band? We have a global economy, and our country's wealth depends on other countries buying our goods and services. If something impacts another...

Re: Housing bubble? Where's your money?

One word - Cyprus. Before that I didn't believe it possible that banks would just help themselves to depositor's money. But they did. It's no longer 'incredibly unlikely', it's now history.

But if...

Re: Housing bubble? Where's your money?

Is that a Mutual? I like the idea of Mutuals - local people using local money, and there's no madness like derivatives in the mix, so the risk is reduced, dramatically!!

Re: Best place to buy...

I use Mighy Ape http://www.mightyape.co.nz/ and/or Fishpond http://www.fishpond.co.nz/

They usually have pretty good prices for DVD / Bluray / Cds.

Or JB-HiFi in the main shopping malls.

Housing bubble? Where's your money?

I've just been reading a post on the alternate media, concerning the big four Aussie banks, which (if these figures are accurate), show that it would be foolish to leave all your hard-earned dosh in...

This is why I have ALL important documents sent to my PO Box. It's worth the cost!

Perhaps I should also mention that the Urban Myth of "$400 value or less and you don't pay" is wrong. It depends on what the contents of the parcel are. Electronic goods are best (highest threshold...

She was MOST miffed! It knocked out all of the...

Re: letter boxes

My Postie is great. (I'm rural - and rural posties seem to be a different breed.)

I made my post box out of wood, after getting the 'regs' from the NZ Post site, so it resembles the house (très...
