Re: Express Entry Visa

The points system is there for a reason. If you're scoring 484 points, that means you're likely to get an ITA and so will be able to immigrate to Canada. Once you have your permanent residency status...

Re: Is moving from the UK really worth it?!

It’s something you either want to do or not. It isn’t all about economics. It’s in your heart and soul. I’d rather liken it to Brexit. You either want it or you don’t - irrespective of the economic...

Re: Housing in Canada?

Re: Advice please - 6 Month Sabbatical in Canada?

We certainly had a great experience. We had already applied for permanent residency, so this was really a way to try out the lifestyle for ourselves before fully committing. It was still rather...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

I’m not really sure how the PNP program works or what the rules are, but I’d have thought the expectation would live in the province that sponsored you. Are there penalties for not doing so?

Re: Advice please - 6 Month Sabbatical in Canada?

I’d say our 4 months cost around $35000 back in 2009. Hiring a holiday home out of season was a very cost effective way of living.

Re: Advice please - 6 Month Sabbatical in Canada?

In 2009 we took a 4 month sabbatical in BC with our two then 3 and 7year olds. They were not able to attend school. However, home schooling is very popular in Canada (or at least it was on Vancouver...

Re: Vacation/Holiday time issue

so here’s a weird one; I don’t get any holiday at all; or more accurately I get 365 potential days each year. I agreed with my employer that as long as I get the job done the rest of my time is my...

Not really sure what the question is. You apparently have the IEC visa already which will give you 2 years in Canada. What do you want advice on? Passing your flying licence is fairly straight...

When you said you lived in Victoria I didn’t realize you meant Langford. Apart from going to do some shopping, it’s not a place I’d choose to live either. Saying that, I’m still surprised you’ve...
