Re: Overland Italy to UK

Hi

Well I have just totted up the final cost of the route I took and it is horrendous. I am seriously considering the Germany Austria route but I do not fancy the snow chains. Has anyone tried...

Re: Overland Italy to UK

Hi
Well I made it back with no Covid problems. After a huge faff to complete the Personal Location Form, because we have to quarantine at two addresses in the UK, we arrived at the tunnel and the...

Re: Overland Italy to UK

Hi Brian
The bit about Switzerland is how I understand it. If you are going straight through there is no problem. Italy is now off the safe places list for the UK so however you do it you have to...

Re: Overland Italy to UK

Hi Brian
Normally we would drive straight through Switzerland so quarantine would not be a problem. On the way down, in June, they just asked if we were stopping I said no and that was enough. This...

Re: Overland Italy to UK

As I started the thread in June I guess I should add my ten penn'th here. We leave tomorrow and as the UK now demands 14 days quarantine for those coming from Italy we are keeping it simple, One...

Re: Before we purchase a home in Tuscany.......

We live part time in a small village in Lazio and it's fine. The atmosphere in a village is always different to the towns and cities, my neighbours are always helpful and at least in Tuscany there's...

Re: UniCredit Mobile banking - be warned

Please don't get me started on the Italian Post Office, do they train their staff to be unhelpful or is it just part of the selection process?

Re: phone line and internet cancelling

TIM are absolute b******s in my humble opinion. In the end I had to get my solicitor to resolve the issue and even he didn't understand what they were doing. They had cancelled my fixed line but were...

Re: covid19 cleaning of rental props, any laws 4 this?

I think the turn round time is something you need to consider. From what I have read I believe the survival time for this pest is a maximum of four days and so if the property is empty for this time...

Re: Permesso di soggiorno

Hi everyone
Thanks for all your contributions. At the end of it all I am still mighty confused so I am popping over to see a friend of mine who is a lawyer to see if she knows what is going on. As...

Re: Permesso di soggiorno

Hi
Thanks for the suggestion but I am not sure that will do the trick. What I am trying to find my way round is the post Brexit visa issue. From next year I am guessing that non-resident Brits will...

Permesso di soggiorno

As we spend more than 90 but less than 183 days per year in Italy we are looking at the permesso as a post Brexit way forward. I understand that as well as income you need to demonstrate health...

Re: Lajatico where to stay

The walls of Lucca are the equivalent of a star wars defence system. After the invention of the cannon conventional city walls no longer offered effective defence. The answer was to build two...
