Re: Residency before Brexit

The cost is quite high. A stay beyond 3 months is €70 and a PdiS for a year €80..
PdiS permanente are difficult to obtain if your not working.

Re: Bank account in English

Why do you like N26? I never saw an N26 in the street. Does N26 let you have a sterling account?

I agree with Geordieborn about languages. The Unicredit website is pretty easy in Italian.

Re: UK Bank Acccounts

I am just sending a copy of my UK passport and a UK credit card statement. Both certified by my accountant. I think that will do it.

I suspect the banks dont want these accounts because they are not profitable...

Re: UK Bank Acccounts

I mainly want a card to pay my Paypal and Amazon UK accounts. The Transferwise debit card might just do it. I just wanted to avoid changing pounds into Euros and then back again.
I cannot say I am...

Re: UK Bank Acccounts

Do you mean HSBC Italia, HSBC international or HSBC UK? Do you have a link to the account?
I am looking at Transferwise. They give you a debit card and the fees are reasonable.

Re: Brand new WA attestazione from your comune.

I was reading an American's blog talking about the difficulty of getting the Permesso di Soggiorno Permanente. As a Non EU citizen you are going to need a lot of money to retire to Italy.

Re: Brand new WA attestazione from your comune.

These rules might change depending on whether there is an agreement with the EU by the end of the year. With the EU team isolating for Covid there is not much time left to make an agreement.
I...

Re: Exchanging UK driving licence with C1 to an Italian licence.

I am just renewing mine at the moment and that is quite a bother. To avoid going to the post office and the ASL I am doing it at all the ACI. I guess the ACI do the conversion too. We were stopped by...

Re: Address needed to obtain a residence permit

If you are going to get EU residence and exchange your licence by 31 December you need to work quickly. To make things worse all these offices operate by appointment only in the Covid crisis.

Re: Exchanging UK driving licence with C1 to an Italian licence.

Re: tessera sanitaria?

Does the private healthcare cover give you access to the public system? What happens if you suffer from something like diabetes and need continuous medication?
