Re: Jade Goody

Yes but they are YOUR standards, not others, so why should you feel the need to judge others because their 'standards' are not the same as yours? What about just accepting that people are different....

Re: Invasion of privacy - why do Ozzies put up with it?

You can't really be comparing the potential threat of a terrorist/gun attack to a supermarket maybe catching a petty thief with a bar of chocolate or such like!

Re: Invasion of privacy - why do Ozzies put up with it?

That may well be the case but it still wouldn't be breaking the law.

Re: Invasion of privacy - why do Ozzies put up with it?

It doesn't bother me per se, I just think that it is wrong. If they have reason to suspect that I may have stolen something then fine (as long as it is justified) but just to ask to search my bags,...

Re: Invasion of privacy - why do Ozzies put up with it?

But it is not the law just a condition of entry. If I am asked I refuse. If they then say I can't shop there, I go somewhere else. No problem.

Re: Invasion of privacy - why do Ozzies put up with it?

You are not breaking the law just the shops condition of entry where one of three things can happen. To call the Police they would have to have good reason to believe that you had stolen something.

Re: FIRES! Is everyone ok?

No it is a business and the only way they make money is from the commercial side ie advertising, without which they would go under.
