Re: Tories in chaos

I don't approve.

Re: Brexit

The sooner Ministers can pile up a load of this red tape rubbish, set fire to it and put new legislation in force from jottings on the back of an envelope, without the inconvenience of debate by...

Re: New residence permits for Brits in Pt before 31/12/20

We do not currently have either residence permits or PT passports.

I see absolutely no reason why the original proposal - of dealing with the new Brexit WA documentation applications via Câmaras...

Re: Passport stamped

I think a bit of loose terminologey has confused matters here.

I'm pretty sure the boarding refusal was occasioned not by doubts about a vaccination certificate, but rather about a test...

Re: Brexit

Not according to the article citing the Australian Trade Minister. Apparently he specifically tied the "as good a deal" to migration, which he wants to be free-flowing between the two countries :

Re: Brexit

Not my FoM.

The Australian Trade Minister's "as good a deal as the UK had with the EU". The UK had FoM with the EU - to match it, the UK and Australia would have to agree on the same broad and...

Re: Brexit

I'll just leave that there again, Bipat.

It follows on the heels of members of Vote Leave government having made pronouncements on "freedom of movement" with Australia.

Have we heard about...

Re: Brexit

Interesting :

I wonder if anyone's envisaging the same for countries in the Caribbean, or African nations, or India, or Pakistan?

Re: Brexit

I thought it was funny how the Australia agreement (the sole new agreement) was touted by the UK as a chance to increase mobility of persons between the 2 countries but that hasn't got a mention with...

Re: Brexit

I think you ignore the selectiveness of that supposedly proposed closer relationship.

Did you see Liz Truss touting for equally closer relationships with all the ex British Empire, for example? Or...

Re: Tories in chaos

A big swathe of England's lamentable "newspaper" industry has a lot to answer for, too, in my opinion.

Re: Brexit

Shapps : "...We shouldn't report ourselves into a crisis"

Maybe it's time to up the censorship of the press.

Re: Brexit

That's a pity.

If they tooka bit more notice, they might get a bit of an education. Under what other scenario might you be able to hear fully grown adults publicly stating that they didn't know...

Re: Brexit

It's a good thing the Leave campaigns focussed so intensely on HGV drivers' wages as being a prime motive for voting for Brexit, as opposed to, say, stirring up anti-immigrant sentiments or promising...

Re: Brexit

Is this the part where we should post pictures of babies crying overlayed with wisecracks about democracy?

Or are we supposed to say "Suck it up, Buttercup"?

Confused, of the Continent.

Re: Brexit

Another ardent Brexiter - Bernard Jenkin- said much the same last night on Newsnight.

You'd have thought they'd have stopped whingeing now they've got what they want, wouldn't you?
