Cakes in Adelaide Supermarkets

Well I've been patiently waiting for 22 years now, but FINALLY Bakewell tarts and Treacle Tarts are available in Foodland Findon! They're made by a company called Pearls and they're from London. ...

Re: Hanson moving to UK....!!!

I read about this in the news but it didn't say anything about her moving to Britain because she thinks there's too many immigrants here.

I think Mrs Hanson is often VERY misunderstood! All she...

Hi everyone.

I'm seriously considering (and by the time you read this I will hopefully have booked) a Butlins holiday at Minehead 17 May to 7 June.

I live in Australia as many of you know so...

Re: Let's face it... Britain isn't so bad over all

God Adelaide is boring! What annoys me most about that is that it has so much POTENTIAL to be an exciting place to live.

It has great weather (albeit that it's not been very comfortable lately but...

Re: Oh no, i found myself doing it!!!!!

I think more people should do that, then the rude ignorant ones might get some sort of message (ether that it's time for them to find a job they're better suited to, or that they need to wake up and...

Re: Oh no, i found myself doing it!!!!!

I don't prefer to be left alone, I just prefer to be spoken to by someone who is, at least on some small level, using their brain rather than reciting pointless lines at me. I also like them to...

Re: Oh no, i found myself doing it!!!!!

I don't mind them being sociable, that's a good thing. It's the brainlessness of what they say that I hate.

It's the same old predictable robotic lines every time.

If the conversation was...

Re: Oh no. No more Corrie

I'm so glad we're once again able to watch ITV from Australia because yesterday I watched Coronation street for the first time and it just happened to be the day that Jack Duckworth left the street,...

Re: Oh no, i found myself doing it!!!!!

I tend to just grunt because if I say anything at all even slightly meaningful, I get the same old stale predictable BRAINLESS responses and they make me cringe.

I don't think I'm being unfair by...

Re: Oh no, i found myself doing it!!!!!

Exactly. Sad isn't it that they're not capable of actually saying something they really mean!

Re: Oh no, i found myself doing it!!!!!

It's a bit like when you go in a supermarket and the checkout operator says "How's your day been, good?". You just know you have to say "Yeah good thanks!", to which the checkout operator will reply...

Re: Oh no. No more Corrie

Fantastic, thanks! Filmon lets me watch bbc1 and 2, and itv1 and channel 4 and 5. I'd previously only been able to watch itv 1,2,3,4 so this is wonderful!

Smile Re: Off to England for 2 months

Thanks for the encouraging comments. Actually to be really honest I'm not going with the intention of seeing if I would want to go back permanently, because right now for the first time in a long...

Re: Oh no. No more Corrie

Obviously ITV have once again managed to lock us out because I've just tried and found I cannot watch ITV1, 2, 3, or 4.

It's just a matter of waiting until someone finds a way around it again!...

Maybe you should put a "reserved" sign on your chair when you're not there.

Re: Hangover cures

Best method I ever tried was not drinking too much. Not trying to be funny, but I honestly can't understand why people do it!

Re: Off to England for 2 months

Sounds like Costas buckets of Coffee must be about the same size as Starbucks.

That's one of my few gripes about them. Why can't they sel you half the amount of coffee (eg. a normal portion that a...

Cool Re: ermm whats going on

Unless you can back that up with sound logical reasons that take king kongs individual circumstances and feelings into account, then I don't think that's a very helpful thing to say at all.

If you...

Re: Off to England for 2 months

That's ok. But a lot of people (me included) obviously do like the big chains, otherwise they'd die out through lack of customers.

As far as coffee shops go, I find the big chains are usually much...

Re: Off to England for 2 months

I think the big macs of the coffee world would be McCafe, surely! :)

I'm honestly not sure what you have against the big coffee chains. They do use genuine good quality coffee beans and they do...

Re: Off to England for 2 months

I usually find it very good, except for the fact Gloria Jeans in Australia don't know what a cappucino is ("do you want chocolate on that?)!

The best coffee I have ever had was at Starbucks....

Re: Off to England for 2 months

I usually find Starbucks and Gloria Jeans do exactly the same standard of coffee in England that they do in Australia.
