Re: Where to Buy Large HouseHold appliances?

You can also check out Appliances Online.

Plus when you find an appliance that you want to buy, Google to see who has it cheaper, and try and to price match it. Always save/print the cheaper offer...

Re: Washing a baseball cap........

I've washed all my husbands baseball caps in front loaders over the last 3-4 decades without any issues.

But in your case, if your baseball cap is difficult to replace, I'd definitely be washing...

Re: SG Work Visa/ S Pass for "SPENT" UK criminal conviction

It won't say 'Spent' on your certificate, it will state 'No live trace'. I was found guilty in a court of law, so yes it is deemed criminal.

I should add that I applied to the court district to...

Re: SG Work Visa/ S Pass for "SPENT" UK criminal conviction

You must always be honest and say 'Yes'.

Back in 1988 when I was teenager, I was fined £25 for a stupid drunken fight with a friend. My ACPO always comes back as 'No live trace', it doesn't...

Re: Renewing British Passport from Australia

I just paid for the regular service because I wasn't in a desperate hurry for it to arrive tbh. My supporting documents arrived back the day after the new passport also.

Re: Renewing British Passport from Australia

Yes. My documents were received by the UK Passport Office on 21st December (online), and the courier delivered my new Blue UK Passport to me here in Australia on 8th January!

Considering the...

Re: Bishan commute

Yes, decisions. In an ideal world you would be best to secure a school placement first, thus insuring a better idea of where exactly to rent.

Would you be driving to work daily or using public...

Re: Bishan commute

There are some nice places to rent, but bare in mind, larger space equals a larger electric bill re A/C!

Nope, I never understood it either? My OH used to have a 3 hour round trip daily whilst we...

Re: Bishan commute

Point taken. Bishan MRT to Raffles Place (as an example) is 9 stops and approximately 26 minutes.

In #2 the drive I referred to was from Seletar Hills to Suntec City in the CBD.

Re: Bishan commute

The MRT from Bishan to Orchard station is only 5 stops, and approximately a 20 minute journey.

Our first house we rented in Singapore was in Seletar Hills. I would regularly walk to the bus stop,...

Re: ACRO police certificate for UAE

Re: ACRO police certificate for UAE

I wouldn't bank on this if I were you tbh. My brother got a £25 fine back in 1986, 32 years later his ACRO he received last month still shows as 'No live trace'.

+1 for Singapore. Spent 5 lovely years there, I wouldn't call it boring? Plenty other expats there for your wife to socialize with, as KL does too. Have a search through Facebook etc too see if there...

Re: Background checks.

Will the company not ask for a police check? The ACRO could perhaps show a 'No Live Trace' in the report?
Best bet would be to apply for your ACRO now, then at least you'll know what shows up on it?
