Thanks for that, we haven't got to that stage yet though.

Our land is due to be registered mid May. The solicitor put in a clause that if it isn't registered by June then we get our deposit back!...

We put a deposit on the land :thumbsup: contracts drawn up OH delivered them to our solicitor yesterday. She said it was all ok and just added one other clause in. If they agree to that then we can...

I think that all you need is a signed contract from the builder, dated before June 30th and you're eligible for the grant, so we had better get cracking!

Hey, thank you for your responses, much appreciated.

We have just been up (8pm) to see what the area is like and it's pretty quiet.

The land is sat at the back of an estate next to acreage...

You can 'try' it but but at what cost?

As you said, try it for a couple of years and see, but what if you love it and she hates it, would you be prepared to return to the UK? Sadly many are not...

My husband loves my cooking .... hence the problem, he just isn't used to it. Our son does cook, at the age of 14 he can cook a mean curry, pasta etc and regularly cooks a meal for us.
