Thanks JAJ for the insights. I will push further for the marriage certificate. When I lost my passport 2 years ago, I remember not requiring the marriage certificate nor the naturalization cert....

Aha! I just found my own British birth certificate. My mother and father are clearly labeled as having the same surname. My mother's maiden name (different from her surname) is also mentioned....

I was born 4 months after she moved, so I'm guessing she came on the equivalent then of a spouse visa but did not yet have ILR.

So, looks like I need that marriage certificate... even though I am...

I would say the British accent gets you interest... and then you have to keep that interest. The accent wil only get you so far.... That's what I've noticed, professionally anyway. I don't think it...

The publications and Masters will definitely help. Doing the exams can't hurt either... that way you would be able to pursue a residency too as another way of getting to the US. Good luck!

Thanks, I know, I'm not worried. I actually used my temp I-551 to satisfy I-9 requirements by my employer, it would just be nice to have the actual thing.
