Re: Premier league football streaming to tv

I just bought an android media player with an add-on called "Kodi" (formerly xbmc), which allows you to get all UK channels, including sky, bt sports, etc for free. All you need is the media player...

Re: UK car hire CDW/excess

Fully comp refers to the level of "damage" to your car. E.g Fire only, fire & theft only, etc. "Fully comp" in the UK refers to "all risks"- e.g collision.

Comprehensive in Canada is different.

Re: Car things

Re driving license, you probably have 90 days to switch it to a NB license.
I "get" your comments about returning to the UK, but the law here wont care. If you get pulled over for speeding, they'll...

Re: UK car hire CDW/excess

As mentioned, you cannot buy Third Party coverage for a rental. Only the registered owner can do that.

The rental car will have Liability insurance- all you have to do is decide if you want to...

Re: UK car hire CDW/excess

The registered owner/operator of the car has to provide third party cover by law. So Liability insurance is already sorted by the rental company, and you wont be able to buy Liability coverage (maybe...

Re: Taking kids' car seats with us

There is no provision, in any auto liability policy, that allows an insurer to avoid claims for this type of incident. As mentioned, this is the same as there is no provision for insurers to avoid...

Re: Taking kids' car seats with us

It is not really a case of the insurance company being liable. They are insuring you as the driver, so the question is are you, the owner/operator, liable. If you are liable, the insurer has to pay...

Re: Taking kids' car seats with us

I've worked in the insurance industry for the last 18 years. I have never seen actual or anecdotal (beyond this forum) evidence of it happening.

Re: Taking kids' car seats with us

I've seen this mentioned in Canada too, but people really need to stop propagating this as it's not true.

You cannot invalidate your insurance for using non-approved car seats, much the same as...

Re: Bringing UK electronics to the USA

No, they will work fine- you just have to buy the power bar.
Obviously, he wont be able to buy any games in the US though, as they wont work on a UK playstation;.

Re: European electrical goods

Something else to consider, but a lot of people in north america are "cutting the cable". ie. cancelling their cable subscription, and relying on services like netflix, amazon, hulu, HBO go. We...

Re: European electrical goods

The TV will work for things like netflix, connecting to a dvd/media player, etc, but probably wont work to receive cable (some TV's are dual PAL/NTSC).

To continue the discussion re other...

Re: OK, I have to be totally honest here

Some of the criticisms here are unfair. Read the original comments- they were hardly Canada bashing.

Cape Breton is a shit hole. Stunning scenery, but nothing else.
A significant portion of...

Re: European electrical goods

You can buy voltage adapters, but IMO, it's probably not safe for high consumption appliances- fridges, washers/dryers, etc. Might be OK for a small TV, but I would question if it's actually worth...

Re: International Auto Source

How does the credit check process work? I see it says you don't require a "local" credit histiry, but does that mean you have to provide /they obtain a credit history from your current country?...

Re: Time for another 'black person killed by police' thread

If/when pulled over by police, do you simply oblige them and do as you're asked to make the process easier, even if you've been wrongly stopped (or feel that you've been wrongly stopped)?

As I...

Re: Rich Dentist kills Majestic Lion

One might also argue that by charging fees like this (E.g $50-60k), it limits the number of animals which are hunted. If they were offering hunting permits for $1000, there'd be no animals left.

In the end, it...

Re: Rich Dentist kills Majestic Lion

I dont agree with hunting myself, but there is a certain amount of hypocrisy here. Why does the life of a lion hold more value than the life of a pig or a cow?
Why are we content to leave hundreds...
