Re: TV via VPN

I’ve just move back to Aus from the Middle East where VPNs are heavily used.

For TV stations a paid VPN is really needed and we used Express VPN who also have a good customer support too. We used...

Re: UK dentist move to Qatar or Dubai

What does your husband do? Qatar is a small market and the landscape is likely to change hugely after the football.

Re: British Driving License Renewal - worth it?

Re: Potential move to Dubai from Oz

I’ve just left Qatar back to Sydney and would add the following points.

Re: Resident Return Visa 155

You can apply for a RRV from overseas (I did it in 2018) but remember that you need to have lived in Australia for 2 out the previous 5 years to get the 5 year visa.

The best bet would be to renew...

Re: Dual US/Australian Citizen and 401k Queston

No idea - there are a few forums on Facebook for US / Australian tax questions that can point you in the right direction. Fix the Australia/US Tax Treaty is one of them.

Re: Uk nurse moving to australia advice

Re: A single mother with 2 kids -moving to sydney

How old are the kids? Schools start at an older age that you're used to in the UK and you'll need to find childcare which can be horrendously expensive in some areas, if you can even get a place.

Re: Slightly odd expat men

You would be surprised how many ex GCC expats have moved to the costa del soo for retirement. Heck even Khashoggi’s palace there had been redeveloped into a home for them and a bunch of Russians.

Re: relocation costs to Abu Dhabi

Shipping anything out of China / Singapore etc is going to be very expensive given the freight costs for a 20’ or 40’ container from Shanghai have gone to all time highs.

I’d speak to a decent...

I did reduce the limit from small to...

Re: Slightly odd expat men

Re: VP offer at PIF

What type of sector are you guys VP's in? The base can move dramatically depending on your job function in London, so it is the same in the ME region too.

Re: VP salary at an SWF - PIF and others

Its a bit more nuanced, factors will include
- your current work locations
- last salary and bonus
- how much the team wants you

The end result is a huge range.

If vaccinated, I'd also consider a nearby hotel...
