You are absolutely right and not just tax debts. Our Community used an excellent Uk affiliate of a Spanish agency to track down and get payment for outstanding community fees.

Think you are right but if you wish to register on the Finanzas site with your NIF you need a Portuguese address for them to send the initial access password.

You will need an actual lease, particularly if you apply for a NIF it will be registered at your address , the same if you apply for residency

If you rent that long from a Portuguese landlord you should get one as the landlord should be declaring the rental income and will have a formal contract .

There is an active group on Facebook that promotes the same - Castilla has several opportunities, and the villages look for specific skills - carpentars, electricians, bakers etc . Great initiative ...

Definitely worth doing - they set up your account in Belgium, give you a debit card and offer an excellent exchange rate .. Revolut offer a similar service.

The list of exemptions is long. Typically a student can travel across districts if they are going home for the weekend..

As you enter Portugal over the bridge there is a slip road to the right and there are payment machines where you enter your Credit Card . That will then cover your travel I think for up to one month
