Re: Best relocation areas in the UK?

not Kent Coast - when the weather comes from the East in winter, the wind is straight from Siberia. Much of Kent has the same weather as East Anglia.

Re: Other peoples noise and anti-social behaviour.

Glad you have had the right ending to the saga; sorry it took so long to get there.

Re: What has p*ssed you off today...part II

They are expensive, but then a decent fresh 6 ft Christmas tree from our local friendly farmer is £65-70. If you keep the Balsam Hills one for 10 years you've more than broken even. I think that's...

Re: RAY’S 2019 Obit Thread

That's such a shame. I remember one Wimbledon match being McNamara & McNamee vs McEnroe & Fleming and being a child was most disappointed that McEnroe hadn't chosen another "mac" for a partner.

Re: 2020 Election

I had people complaining about immigrants taking American jobs, and when I pointed out I was an immigrant taking an American job, I got the response along the lines of people like me were ok. Which I...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

I’m sure Health Canada will welcome your thought on where they’re going wrong. Hint, the differences that cause delays in both are not due to the licensing process but the scientific and data...

Re: President Trump

What do you think is "too far"? He has trampled into the dirt any political and/or diplomatic norm that would have permanently finished any other politician of either party before 2016. To be...

Re: President Trump

The only thing that makes sense is that there is something else going on and about to hit the news cycles this week - Epstein? Mueller? and Trump needs a massive distraction that eats up the...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

As you don't seem to understand the "/s" tag, let me spell it out for you:

The UK is currently a world-leading country in research, development and regulation of medicines. We currently...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

So, you advocate the "third world" option of just taking whatever EU say is ok and rubber stamping it? Good to know we'll be free of those faceless bureaucrats and no longer submitting to their...

Re: 2020 Election

There is a lot to be said about the concept of “a loyal opposition”, which seems to have disappeared entirely from US political discourse. Along with the concept of “my hono(u)rable colleague” with...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

We already have an excellent regulatory authority in the MHRA, who follow the E.U. regulations - after all they helped draft most of them. As things stand, on 1st November there will have to be some...

Re: The 2019-2020 Football Thread

Depends on your definition of "first" - Hull City certainly weren't 'Arry's first English club, but we're due a 15% sell on fee from his transfer to ManU.

It will come in very useful to either...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

Under the law establishing the EMA, it must be in a member state of the EU. So it would have required a change in the law to remain in London. Not technically impossible, but given how many bridges...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

Well, that validates my thoughts that it's not just medicines where we've completely ****ed up.

I have no knowledge of why the WA did not contain any framework for closer co-operation for the...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

Yeah, great way to "take back control" by surrendering our (world class and industry leading) voice in regulating medicines to a foreign body where we have no voice whatsoever?

Which non-EU...

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

No system is perfect, but removing the current laws with nothing to replace them is hardly going to fix this issue is it? Let’s fix the small leak by smashing a ruddy great hole in the boat?

Re: Post EU Referendum...Part II

I can only speak for the medicines aspect. As most people know, medicines have to be licensed. They are manufactured under strictly controlled conditions in named, licensed and inspected factories,...
