Re: Inheritance Tax

Thank you, all.

No need to report for me, its not enough!

OK, it seems like the estate pays, which is fine.

I spoke with my Mum yesterday who mentioned she chatted to her financial advisor about inheritance tax for yearly gifts she sends to me and my wife if she passes within 7 years. The...

Re: I'm a 15 year old moving to the USA, would appreciate any help!

Agreed, hard to tell at 15 also whether going to the US with parents or staying in the UK is best. If OP wants to stay in the US, then go now, if other aspirations are on the cards, stay in the UK..

Re: I'm a 15 year old moving to the USA, would appreciate any help!

My opinion is always against the grain, however, find a relative to stay with in the UK and finish your education (all the way through grad school if you so wish). If after that you would like the...

Re: More FBAR

The longer I live here, the more I come to understand how docile nationalism makes people.

Re: FBAR

This made me chuckle. Despite the fact I am happy with my CPA, I argued with them (successfully) that aggregate balances are important, not individual. They kicked back somewhat, then looked red in...

Re: Home visit from USCIS

The whole point of concern is also based on here-say (i.e. an old neighbor told me...). It could have been the local Investment Society (UCIS, a huge trip for them from Christchurch, Canterbury!) who...

Re: Home visit from USCIS

Were they asking for donations to keep USCIS running?

Re: FBAR

My CPA charges $700/return, and uses 15-30 mins time of an international tax attorney to help with the filing. I do not think that is too bad?

If stock options come into play it will rise to...

Re: My I-751 Timeline

I hope you actually receive your extension letter and not have to trudge off and get an I-551 extension stamp!

The form is laughably easy though (and this is coming from someone who is easily...

Re: I751 Experiences?

Apart from myself applying in October, and having to get the I-551 stamp in my passport, my opinion is basically the same as this.

Again, nice!

It seems that I will stick to the Infopass. Back to a brick and mortar once more!

Re: Any recent timeline experiences for I-751 processing letters?

(EDIT: a little less abrasive, based on subsequent thought)

Re: Any recent timeline experiences for I-751 processing letters?

Nice!

Re: Any recent timeline experiences for I-751 processing letters?

This thread stimulated me to call USCIS, who told me to go ahead and make the infopass appointment. Schedule is fully booked, so will check everyday until a slot opens up...
