Re: US Police shoot man selling CDs

Hi, thank you, I like your comments and DBD's and the different perspective you both have, whether I agree.....

I don't have a bias, I really don't. Actually I do, I am biased toward an open,...

Re: US Police shoot man selling CDs

I have no idea either as I was not there, this is what is important. If you have been in this situation you may, may have some idea, otherwise it really is all supposition and guesswork. Worryingly...

Re: US Police shoot man selling CDs

The link is not misleading, the interpretation at times is, that more black people are shot than white people, they are not, the figures speak for themselves. Add the words proportionately according...

Re: US Police shoot man selling CDs

Probably the most asinine statement I have ever read on here. I note your later post with regard to the police being shot in Dallas is rather shorter. When a member of the public is shot the...

Re: Un-happy in Canada!

Nice post. Nail. Head.
This could very easily have been my situation several times over. We have resisted and stuck with it, not easy, and not forever, but for now I think we are still best here....

Re: Un-happy in Canada!

I think you should concentrate on your wife and four children personally, this has to be your priority. Perhaps if you focus on what I am sure is a better life you have built together here, than what...

Re: Un-happy in Canada!

I am ex-military, and I agree. I think nostalgia here may be an issue. I don't think it's healthy. I would love to go back and have certain things as they were, or more pertinently as I imagine they...

Re: Un-happy in Canada!

I lost my dad 3 months ago. I have been here nearly 8yrs. The recent circumstances and visits back home during illness and funeral made me question things too.

What I found helped somewhat is...

Re: Missing, presumed kidnapped

It is quite pathetic that you are using this incident and this thread to try and justify your position. You really need to take a look at yourself, and if you cannot see the difference in standpoint...

Re: Missing, presumed kidnapped

oh get over yourself and don't be so petty, an Amber alert has been posted, there is a blindingly obvious difference.

Re: Cheaper to buy a winter coat in the UK online or in Canada?

I found it very cheap here compared to the UK, whether in the sale or not specifically for North Face. I panicked when I got here and spent $450 on a climb a mountain type TNF jacket. 7yrs later...

Re: Gunman on the loose - Moncton

Sad to hear that. Getting a ride along with a knob can put people off, sure it is just a one off, I would not believe this tool if he says everyone does it, he is trying to justify his actions.

Re: Gunman on the loose - Moncton

Well all I can say is that I am surprised and more than a little shocked. Firstly what reason would you have, other then being a knob showing off obviously. Secondly I would have thought someone...

Re: Gunman on the loose - Moncton

What an absolutely ridiculous assertion. This may be your opinion, and that's fine, but it is not fact.

The only figures I have instantly to hand, first 6 months of 2012, EPS fired a firearm once...

Re: 7000 cops... really?

I am actually all for police transparency and think we do quite a good job here, I like how the Chief is selected by a civilian mixed panel of local community representatives, and that there are...

Re: 7000 cops... really?

I would like a go myself!
I would not say though that police domination has been raised before now, simply a suggestion of public funds being misused is how I see it, which is a reasonable and fair...

Re: 7000 cops... really?

" it was started to have debate about the expenses and the spectacle of the public service."
Yet you yourself are now talking about state control and showing pictures of armoured vehicles.

Why...

Re: 7000 cops... really?

I'm not sure where this last bit comes from, before you raised it I was not aware of anyone running a story complaining about money spent or complaints generally.

Re: Stereotyping your job...

Well timed thread Ann considering the other one going at the moment (7000 cops).

I get all three here, and to be fair got it in the UK too.

I find it very subjective though. People love me...

Re: 7000 cops... really?

I was responding specifically to what the OP ascertained, from an EPS perspective.
I then further commented that it was unnecessary generally to bring this up from such a slanted viewpoint. I stand...

Re: 7000 cops... really?

3 officers attended from EPS, on their own time, not compensated, flights I believe covered through our association which we all pay into, no public funds. I can't speak for all officers obviously,...
