We used a lawyer for everything but the I-751 that I did myself and everything went okay.

Maybe there is some other reason your attorney wants 500.00 is there anything complicated about your case?

My Insurance (or work) had the 30 day within a life changing event rule also. Some of the smaller companies are probably not as strict. Larger companies love rules and regulations.

Try anything showing that you are eachother's beneficiary for insurance, 401k or whatever. Show health insurance cards. Your lease agreement or house deed.
