Re: Ukraine-Russia War

It's not. I am saying that is Putin steps foot in Hungary, the USA would immediately retaliate against Putin

Re: Ukraine-Russia War

Exactly, Orban is not playing silly games with Russia, whereas the UK government (in particular Boris Johnson) was childishly antagonising Putin to score virtue signalling points.

America is...

Re: AUCHAN petrol station

I can answer my own question now .....

Alamo said I would not be able to get the discount, as it is a commercial vehicle.

I tried to do my best Hungarian impression when filling up :-

Re: AUCHAN petrol station

When I was booking my hire car I ended up going with Alamo, because the Hungarian local rental companies get nothing but bad reviews (I did hear several times, as you mentioned, that you will often...

Re: AUCHAN petrol station

So if you have to show driving licence / ID does this mean you can no longer get the discounted price when driving a Hungarian rental car?

Why do house sellers do CRAZY price increases

So I have been looking at Hungarian house prices since 2019 and have many properties of interest bookmarked.

I have seen a strange thing that happens with Hungarian house prices that doesn't...

Re: Hungarian Property Price increases

A large garden is an excuse to buy a tractor. Every man wants to own a tractor right?

I'm sure the novelty wears off after a few weeks, but that's tomorrows problem

Also as any tractor I...

Re: Hungarian Property Price increases

I don't think 400m2 is as big as you think.

Imagine if you had a square house of 400m2, On a single floor that's only 20m long and 20m wide. The average person can walk 1.4m/s so if would take...

Re: Hungarian Property Price increases

House size. I would like at least 1 acre (4000m2) of land, but house size is the most important thing.

I know most normal people probably think that's mad, but then they have probably not spent...

Re: Hungarian Property Price increases

I hate feeling cramped up all the time, I can't stand that British houses are so small, and not only that, so close to the neighbours, no separation.

Both myself and my wife have our own hobbies...

Re: Hungarian Property Price increases

In 2019, I was almost ready to buy a house in my area (North-West UK) that had been for sale for 13 years for £350k
It was a 3 bed semi with half an acre of land and a very large shed.

Then covid...

Re: Utilities in Hungary

I paid £1.76 (812huf) to fill my car 2 days ago in the UK
I've seen diesel up to £1.98 (914huf)

So paying 700 huf (or whatever) on my next visit is still a bargain

Re: Property tax

The reason I am concerned is that all the articles I can find on google say that building tax is up to 3.6% the value of the property or 1100huf per m2, and I am looking at houses in the 400-600m2...
