:( Thanks, he'll just have to continue to try in the UK and see what happens, he loves it out here (Oz) so much, it's making him determined to succeed and be able to get here, the situation in the UK...

Thanks Moneypenny20 and Bermudashorts, thought it might be difficult but worth looking into. I guess there's no way we can sponsor him to come out as PR either is there? He's 17 at the moment.

Yes, it certainly does! We've been here just over 3 years now and love it! It was hard when we went through it but it seems that it's even harder for people applying now, I am so glad it's not us...
