Re: Is it better to buy a house/flat in the UK or NZ now?

Re: Our experience moving to NZ 18 months in

I'm sorry but this old chestnut needs to be buried six feet under! In my experience (myself, my husband and friends) the work-life balance is not better in NZ. I worked 8 til 5 plus commute (same as...

Re: Dorset sheep shearer beats kwis at their own game.

Re: Dorset sheep shearer beats kwis at their own game.

I couldn't get link to open but probably due to duff phone. I wanted to point out that it is NOT their own game! People have been shearing sheep elsewhere for donkeys years. Just as Cadburys is not...

re: North and South islands - Climate Advice & wher to live for lifestyle

Forget the weather outside and look at the accomodation. In the hot weather you can find shade, get air con or a fan. However, in the winter you may find yourself in a damp, uncomfortable freezing...

Re: The experience for children in NZ >making friends and school

That's not fair is it - they may be scaremongers in your view but their experiences are valid and they have the right to share their stories. Moving to any new country or area has its challenges. I'm...

Re: 8 months in Auckland...

Good grief, you think the weather/climate is better in NZ than N.E Scotland? From personal experience I can tell you it is not. The winters are long, cold and damp in Palmerston North and most houses...

Re: Non drivers in NZ

Please check regulations. I believe recent changes mean that you can't just go into an AA shop and get one anymore unless you have held licence for two years. Son of a friend had to retake test in NZ...

Re: Finding after a month in the uk

I agree! Lidl and Aldi don't sell "crap food". That's silly. I think prices are on a par between nz and UK with some cheaper, some more expensive. I can only manage if I don't compare - that way...

Any meet ups in Palmy?

Just wondered if anyone knows of 'meet ups' arranged in Palmerston North? I'm not looking for an expat group specifically just someone/people to have a coffee and a chat with. Thanks.

Re: Any regrets?
