Wondering if someone can tell me how it works, if a current PR Aussie citizen wants to change their surname (ie getting married)... how do you do it, which department do you talk...

I believe they scan the forms so doesnt matter double sided, infact I believe some of mine where in my spouse application.

For anyones future reference - this is the evidence we sent in along with the forms and declarations, police check etc for the second stage of a spouse visa.....

Here is what we sent in for the second stage..... only offical things were certified by a JP photocopies of everything else... hope this helps someone someday!

GOT IT! PR came through today. Two years of paperwork ended today! yay! was so happy I cried when I found out! sheesh!

I would suggest the following, but do not claim to be an expert!
1. Have as much evidence as possibly to start with already sorted and photocopied and certified where necessary...

That explains by the time we got ours there was only three weeks to collect the information and submit! Certainly a tight timeline! You really have to be organise and anticpating its arrival. Good...

defacto visa/ statement of support/ eligible for centrelink?

If you have sponsored someone on a defacto visa are you eligible for unemployment or any other benefits from centrelink?
I know the statement of support with the application was signed and evidence...

Lucky Bugger! Congrats though. We were denied our extra baggage - spouse visa didnt count for Cathay Pacific. So we lived out of one and half suitcases for two months. IT WAS GRAND *COUGH* :)

I would say YES and include a copy of your passport or birth certificate again which clearly shows your name :) Better to be SAFE than sorry :)
