Re: University Transcripts

Hi,

Under the new points system, as pre-published in the Canada Gazette, you will no longer score points for your wife's education, although you could score points for her proficiency in English...

Re: Education Qualifications

It does not make any sense to me that you would be requirted to have all non-Canadian qualifications assessed, since the regulations that have been published award points on the basis of your...

Re: DONOT use the legal immigration service <name removed>

When your application has been submitted (maybe, just maybe you can still succeed if you do that after May 4), you may want to contact your Provincial Law Society and see if there is a basis for...

Re: IMM5490 Q27 - Dates of cohabitation

I would recommend putting in the date you sign the form, or hand-writing in "present" rather than leaving it blank.

Re: Temporary Working Visa - Media Industry

It does seem you would need a work permit. The one exception would be work without a work permit under Regulation 186(g):

Re: Sending Medical and Police certificate later..

Hi,

Thank you, siouxie. If I appeared to belittle someone then I am really sorry, it was not done on purpose. In fact, it does not seem to me that CIC bestow any particular benefits on me because...

Re: Sending Medical and Police certificate later..

Thanks for that.

Actually I did recommend that police clearance(s) should be sent with the application if they are available. I have simply taken some time and trouble to answer the OP's...

Re: Sending Medical and Police certificate later..

I was in fact referring to the OP's outland common-law application

If you want to bring in other visa categories, the checklist for Provincial nominees (for instance) appears to insist on...

Re: Sending Medical and Police certificate later..

Well it is up to the OP what they want to do . Submission of police certificates at a later date is allowed. I suppose the real point is the OP asked if police and medical certificates can be sent...

Re: Sending Medical and Police certificate later..

No, I don't recommend that you send the police clearance(s) to Mississauga if they are not sent with the original application. Send them to the visa post e.g. CHC London after the sponsor is approved...

Re: Sending Medical and Police certificate later..

Outland spousal? Well actually, no. The proof of the medical is required, but you can write on the Checlkist that police certificates will be supplied once a file number is available from the visa...

Re: Skilled worker B.C?

I suggest check the NOC lead statement and main duties very carefully against what you do/have done in the last 10 years. To me, the NOC appears to be oriented towards hardware engineers. Most IT...

Re: Skilled worker B.C?

The list has been released and IT support is not on it. Unless you have 1 year of full-time work experience as a programmer within the last 10 years, or an LMO and WP you will unfortunately not...

Re: LMO rejected twice - options

Hi,

I don't think the Canadian company is doing anything illegal if they keep him on the Canadian payroll while he works in the UK. It is up to them, but seeing the company has a UK office which...

Re: Extending Work Permit with Provincial Nomination

Also, if the Province that nominated you issues a work permit support letter, I suggest you obtain a new letter from them and submit that too.

Re: LMO rejected twice - options

Under current legislation you do not need a Canadian work permit to work for a Canadian company outside Canada. I don't like it though - it's called outsourcing. Theoretically I suppose the...

Re: Help Needed.. Changing LMO keeping same employer

Presumably your friend will be doing a skilled job in future so he needs a new work permit. I don't see why he cannot be issued with that at the border, which would also enable his wife to obtain a...

Re: Criminal rehabilitation time-scale

That does not sound like a fun trip, no.

The only thing you might consider then is staying in Australia while your husband is working temporarily in Canada. In the case of a permanent residence...

Re: Criminal rehabilitation time-scale

If it was a conviction for a single offense more than 20 years ago and outside Canada you may not need rehabilitation. If the offense is classed as serious criminality though you are out of luck.

Re: LMO rejected twice - options

Ok, so I am reluctant to "wade in" here again, but here is my advice:

Yesterday I had a wisdom tooth out, which is why I had so much time for this, and also why I know how you feel. Ouch!

CIC...

That's a good point. I actually have recommended the OP get independent advice - from a Registered Canadian Consultant.
It is a very difficult and challenging situation for the OP. However, if the...

Re: LMO rejected twice - options

Hi,

I'll let Ron McKay answer your first question. If you are on implied status you are Ok to work. If you are not on implied status, you are not OK to work. I am sure he'll give you conservative...
