Re: Checking on application PR Card replacement

Thank you. Gives me hope that (if they don't lose it) our application will take the advertised 60 days.

Re: 1 year in Hamilton

The Mountain and Stoney Creek, which are the two places we've lived since being here are lovely. Parts of downtown are still decidedly sketchy but equally parts of it are gentrified and therefore...

Re: International Removals from UK

A bit late but we used Whites to move from the UK to Ontario last year and I found them professional, helpful reasonably priced. They serve the entire UK I believe.

Re: New UK Travel Rules

10 days if going Canada to the UK as it stands, or you can buy a 'Test to Release' kit which gets you out after 5 days with a negative test. No use for us though sadly as we have a 10-day trip...

Re: New UK Travel Rules

The rule about it only applying if you got your shots in the UK is such BS! For anyone like me with a trip back planned and is hoping this rule changes, I urge you to lobby Grant Shapps -...

Re: Keeping UK bank accounts open after moving to Canada

Problem is that many banking apps are geolocked, meaning you can't download the UK version in Canada and vice-versa.

Definitely wish I had thought of getting a cheap GiffGaff sim before leaving...

As we moved during Covid and there's been very little opportunity to properly explore, go out for drinks, meals, ice-skate, watch sports or whatever, it's difficult to say at this stage whether we...

Having lived in Hamilton since July 2020, these are my anecdotal impressions as to what's cheaper/more expensive compared to the UK:

More Expensive:

Re: Best way to ring Canada from the UK
