Re: Middle Age

When you make old man noises every time you get out of a chair, and listen to XFM with your offspring in a desperate attempt to get 'down with the kids'. Oh and while you're listening...

Those who knew Segamad - sad news

Hi to all those who knew my husband Segamad (Ali) on this forum. I'm sad to report that the cancer got the better of him  and he died on September 29th. :( :(

In her youth my mother-in-law used to play tennis with Errol Flynn

My husband almost got beaten up by Giant Haystacks' entourage when he called him a fat bastard in a service station cafe (my...

Re: 1966

Happy birthday Leslie buddy!! 1966 was indeed a (ahem!) vintage (in the best way) year. My brother whom I love dearly was born in 1966. 1967 was also a good year, the birth of Radio 1 (OK maybe not)....

Re: Who Likes Rotund Fellas?

Not sure whether there was a 17th century version of the Gallaghers and co. There is also some dispute about the authorship of Moliere's plays so perhaps he didn't know very much, but some French...

Re: Who Likes Rotund Fellas?

I remember a line from that film (9 months?) with Arnold Schwarzenegger, when Emma Thompson says ' I like a man with a bit of upholstery'. I quite agree. I prefer Sega Mad a bit chubbier than when I...

Re: What is a Steiner school?

I concur with Toontje, they are similar but not quite the same, I think there's more of a spiritual element to Steiner teaching whereas the Montessori approach just focuses on education. I also...

Re: What is a Steiner school?

I'd considered a Steiner education when I had my first child (she's now 15) but the travel would have been a nightmare. She's quite an academic child now (as are my husband and I) and I think that...
