Re: Institute Of Migration - Post-grant

After the flood of ringing endorsements didn't materialise, I decided not to use the IOM. Despite sending another email to ask for a flight itinerary I received nothing.

I am booking a one-way...

Re: Institute Of Migration - Post-grant

Hi Eurosyl,

Yes, it is the International Organization for Migration - I didn't have it to hand when I wrote the original post.

The warning mentions internet or email offers. The IOM...

Re: Institute Of Migration - Post-grant

Yes, and Cathay do one with 40kgs. But the IOM is hundreds of pounds cheaper. I think they make their savings on staff training(!) but I'd just like to know if anyone's had a smooth run using them.

Question Institute Of Migration - Post-grant

In my grant letter from DIAC was a recommendation to use the Institute of Migration as they offer cheap one-way flights with additional baggage allowance (40kgs).

After a few phone calls and...

Question Permanent Residency - with expiry date??

I've just got my grant letter through for a Family Sponsored 176 visa. It says you can make multiple entries to Australia and the first must be by October 2009.

It then says the visa is "Valid...

Re: March 2008 Applicants

My visa came through on 11th December, almost exactly nine months after applying on 9th March. Overriding feeling is relief at the moment!

DIAC had asked for the employers reference and when I...

Re: 176 Family Sponsored Visa Circle

Essex2Sydney - yes you can attach docs after submitting. Check out this page http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/attach-doc.htm

What I actually came on here to say was that I now have my visa! Came...

Re: March 2008 Applicants

mb_jg - I know how you feel. I read this thread and then compare to activity on other months' and wonder what's going on. My own case has progressed in that I've been asked for more info (employer's...

Re: We have a problem - Work Reference

I'm in the same situation regarding the reference. My boss doesn't know I've applied, although he knows my brother lives there and I've visitied a couple of times and enjoyed it so he has an inkling....

Re: Application being processed further

I had "app being processed further" in June and didn't get an email from CO until this week. In the meantime, things all said Received (as they had since June) and went to Met this week when the...

Re: Thinking of not using an agent to save money

First off, I've no reason to doubt Alan is a good agent.

All I know is that having read a lot of threads on here prior to applying and since applying (in March) that a very common complaint...

Re: Application progress query

Hi Sooper,

You say it's only been a couple of weeks so in all likelihood they haven't looked that closely. I uploaded docs with my app on 9th March and only got 'received' at the end of June.

Re: March 2008 Applicants

This recent burst of activity would have been very frustrating to read had I been on more often. But as it is, I'm only here to say I've finally heard from a CO and only proof of employment is...

Re: March 2008 Applicants

Congrats Gillian! Here's hoping that it begins a flurry of March activity as happened a few weeks ago and there'll be a few more people joining you in the champagne celebrations.

Re: March 2008 Applicants

Haha! That makes me feel better!

I've got as far as everything saying received on status page and checklist apart from forms 160EH and 26EH (the 2 medical reports). How all the rest of...

Re: March 2008 Applicants

It said application being processed further in June! That's why it's been such a long wait and I'm not entirely convinced that phrase means for certain you have a CO (despite lots of claims...

Re: 176 Family Sponsored Visa Circle

Thanks for the tip Schwuk. I've worked out how many days I've been waiting, multiplied it by the money I've spent on the application so far and taken away the number of times I've checked to see if...

Re: 176 Family Sponsored Visa Circle

Since this is down on page 8 or something, thought I'd give it a bump up and also ask a question - I've seen people talking about a form 80 (think it's to do with police check?). I'll look it up on...

Re: 176 Family Sponsored Visa Circle

This is what makes it so hard. I submitted everything I could up front, apart from meds and police check. I knew it wouldn't move straight away so wanted to give myself a bit of leeway with the 12...

Thanks for the points clarification Schwuk. I was dreading getting all the way through and them saying "sorry, you're five points short."

I'll save the phonecall to DIAC to check on the CO as...
