Re: How much do you pay for firewood?

Once again, I can only hope for the prices quoted on here.
In 2005 the price was a minimum of Eu10/quintale. By 2020 this had risen to 18/quintale and it was difficult to find at this price,...

Re: Italian Elections

They may return to their roots. At the turn of the century, when AN was splintering because Fini was showing himself to have human instincts*, half of the phone-ins to Radio Padania began: " I used...

Re: Energy costs

I decided to check the local market.
Ferramenta A - 20kg Euro 54 (my supplier);
Ferramenta B - 20kg Euro 61.50*
Gas supplier - 15kg Euro 37 (doesn't stock 20kg!)
. 25kg...

Re: Energy costs

You're doing well. Since March I have been paying โ‚ฌ54 for 20kg; Sept. 20 was โ‚ฌ40, Sept. 21, โ‚ฌ50.
I have noticed that the small general stores in the higher villages charge 5-10 euros more than I am...

Re: House clearance.

There is a free monthly magazine. "Qui C'รจ", that you can pick up in most shops and advertises this sort of service. The website is rather informative (if shops aren't handy!); it's printed in...

Re: Tax on Pensions in Italy

I arrived in Italy as a pensioner, conscious of the existence of the double taxation agreement (but not the detail) and with no intention to enter the world of work. I, therefore, had no contact with...

Re: Tax on Pensions in Italy

[QUOTE=Geordieborn;13127870]You could argue the UK state pension is never taxed as they have no means to do so other than indirectly. I always read the treaty as saying the state pension is taxable...

Re: Tax on Pensions in Italy

The UK/IT Treaty may be differently worded (I haven't read it) but the Belluno office of the Entrate accept that the UK state pension is covered by the Treaty if it is taxed in UK (I had explained...

Re: Tax on Pensions in Italy

During our exchanges (Apr - Nov 21) Entrate mentioned that there had been a "less than" concession but that had been abolished.
The declaration is under "Quadro RW" in the classes of income in the...

Re: Tax on Pensions in Italy

I haven't logged on to the Forum for some time, hence the late contribution.
I receive Civil Service and State pensions, both taxed in UK. Entrate accept that this is correct and in accordance with...

Re: Health Insurance Italy

I had read it that way, that the S1 was still available. With that you can begin; I don't, really, want to hear different opinions!

Re: Booster in Italy if original vacs elsewhere?

Well said!
I would add that there has been, throughout the Covid crisis, NGOs in Italy who have tried to cover those "below the radar", with the (laudable) connivance of the authorities.

Re: ITALY resident exit to UK and passport control

My opinion is based more on the practicalities rather than on the Rights, which exist in law.
Consider entry to and exit of the adopted home country:

Exit - what does the "man in the booth" do?...

Re: Online grocery Shopping Piemonte .

If the experience of the first lockdown is a guide, on-line shopping may be a choice rather than a necessity and, I suspect, any future lockdown rules will be well informed.
First point, you could...

Many thanks to you, both. This was precisely what I had in mind.
To explain, my son had run into this problem in his application for Italian citizenship (plus having "Carmarthen" as place of birth...

I read in the Forum in the recent past that the Embassy in Rome had had to issue information to the Italian authorities explaining British usages regarding personal names: in essence that there could...

Re: ITALY resident exit to UK and passport control

I would say that passport stamping makes no difference to someone with a demonstrable right to be permanently within the Schengen area.

Re: Italian TV change

Have you never watched "Quante Storie" or ""Passato e Presente" [RAI 3- 12.45 to 14.00, Mon-Fri]?
That said, I search for English language offerings in the evenings - after "Un Posto al Sole", of...

Re: Italian TV change

I have seen somewhere that the change-over is being done in stages; perhaps Sicily is in a later phase. I (Veneto) have lost the channels predicted, but still have plenty.
