I've already booked my flight - via LA for £451 (one-way). It was the cheapest I could find on that route and it was amazing how much more other travel agents wanted to charge me for the same flight!...

I flew Emirates one way last year Auckland - Sydney - Dubai (stopover) - London Heathrow.
Apart from the 17 hours to get to Dubai (and then only 7 to get to London) it was a most enjoyable flight.
