Re: International Joint Bank Accounts?

I'm not a beneficiary of my late brothers estate but was his sole executor - absolute nightmare! Not a job that I want to undertake again any time soon.

Re: Car Insurance and Keeping our UK car in Spain

Re: Tax - Selling UK property before taking Spanish residency

You should be OK as you may not be considered tax resident in Spain until 2022. Your sale in UK should therefore not attract any CGT in either country (IMO)

Re: Rental contract for Empadronamiento and TIE

You shouldn't need an NIE as one will be issued with the TIE. However, I have heard that some town halls require an NIE (and even in some places a TIE) to get the padron.

Re: Rental contract for Empadronamiento and TIE

Probably not.

That is a holiday rental agreement (temporary) and not one stating you intend staying here.

You need a permanent one stating that it's to be your "vivienda habitual"

Re: Did someone successfully exchange their british driving licence?

Re: Reservation

Do NOT pay any money to an agent. Make sure any monies are paid to your (independent) solicitor. By doing that, if things go wrong, you can get your money back.
