Re: Time between citizenship app and grant - RRV?

Bermuda, I have put the dates in twice and it comes up with 22nd Jan each time. So I presume it's correct. I thought that it was 90 days out of the country that reset it (not sure why I thought...

Re: Time between citizenship app and grant - RRV?

Thanks JAJ, luckily I thought of that. :sneaky: And I appear to be eligible. But the checklist asks for proof of my business, cultural and family ties to Australia. I cannot check these off the list,...

Re: Time between citizenship app and grant - RRV?

http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/_pdf/155-checklist.pdf

Here's a link to the 155 checklist. It appears that only business owners with cultural ties to Australia are eligible. They can't be correct?

Time between citizenship app and grant - RRV?

I've read many threads but nothing covers my situation.

My 176 was granted in 2008 and I validated it christmas 2008 with a 3 week holiday to see family. I returned for 6 weeks in 2010 and finally...

Re: iPhone 4S vs Samsung S3 ????

You don't have a dog and bark yourself. Samsung make some iPhone screens, along with LG and Sharp.

Re: iPhone 4S vs Samsung S3 ????

People seem to forget what the mobile phone market was like before the introduction of the iPhone. Apple changed the mobile phone market on its head.

They also did the same with the music market,...

Re: iPhone 4S vs Samsung S3 ????

If I could fold it up to the size of a Nokia 8210 yes. There's no need for a screen bigger than that of the iPhone, even that is too big. We really don't have to have a 5inch LCD in our pockets to...

Re: iPhone 4S vs Samsung S3 ????

How do you girls carry your Notes around in your handbags without scratching the tv screen on the front of it? My girlfriend wants one as apparently it's the latest female accessory, but I'm...

Re: iPhone 4S vs Samsung S3 ????

If you want a phone, get anything but the Samsung S3 or Note. Who wants to carry something that big around in their pocket?

You have to laugh at people slagging Apple and not understanding the...

Re: Applecare...

If you go to settings>general>about and scroll to serial number, it shows it. Refurbs generally start with 5K, QR , 7T and 8T.

Apple call them "new replacements" not refurbs, so he probably wasn't...

Re: Applecare...

All replacement iPhones, iPods and iPads are refurbs, they don't give out new products even if you're told they do.

They have brand new cases and screens, but the internals are refurbed. You can...

Re: Architectural jobs Perth

Look at it this way. You are at a distinct disadvantage due to not having local experience. Unless you were the best candidate for the job by a stretch, it's unlikely you will get anything.

I'm an...

Re: Job hunting / seeking issues

Just reading this thread, has made me glad that I am not alone in the frustration that is the Australian job market.

I've been here just over 1 year, and managed to find a contract position about...

Re: I've reached a whole new rudeness level on the job front

Wow. Just wow. That must severely suck balls. I could have saved about £580,000 a year earning that. Surely you're just living off interest now so why do you need a job?

Re: I've reached a whole new rudeness level on the job front

If you were earning nearly £600,000 a year in the UK, then I'm sure you'd easily get a job anywhere in the world.

Unless you're lying.

Re: I've reached a whole new rudeness level on the job front

Ditto.

So damn rude. I'd much prefer they sent an email/letter with a sorry you didn't get the job, than just completely ignore you. Fair enough if you hadn't been for an interview, as they...

Re: Used cars so expensive. Anyone successfully haggled the price down significantly

Used cars cost more here, but it's all relative as you get more when you come to sell it.

If you bought a $10,000 used car, it'd be worth about $8,500 two years later.

You could buy the same...

Re: F1 coverage in Aus

I'm not sure, but I hope so as One's commentary is bloody awful when they lose the feed from the BBC.

I imagine they will have a deal to use Sky's coverage, finger crossed.

Re: Changing childcare qualifications !!

My fiancee had a UK cache diploma in childcare and when we arrived, she had it assessed and apparently it's classed the equivalent as a Certificate IV here in SA. She managed to get a job as Room...
