Re: Questions on Canadian immigration

1. You need IETLS to enter the pool for Express Entry so that's a non-runner.
2. Part of applying to PNP is that you intend to settle in that province, so applying to multiple provinces may result...

IEC Implied Status

I was browsing the FAQ for IEC for an unrelated reason and came across this

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1476&top=25

This seems to indicate that you can stay on...

Re: 2020 Election

It varies from state to state. Most allow in-person voting on election day, some require you to bring the ballot that was mailed to you so it can be destroyed, some will only allow you to cast a...

Re: 2020 Election

I wouldn't say that in-person voting is dummy proof in all parts of the US. Look at what happened in 2000 in Miami-Dade county with their chads.

Re: 2020 Election

I think there's a good chance the call will be made on 3rd, it really comes to down to who wins Florida. If Biden wins Florida, Trump is pretty much done. Not quite the same for Biden, he can still...

Re: PR Renewal & Citizenship Application

In my view it's always better to have a valid PR card, just in case. It's only $50 + photos + postage and is worth it for piece of mind just in case (despite intentions) you have to travel outside of...

Re: PR Renewal & Citizenship Application

Citizenship applications are badly backlogged because they haven't had any citizenship tests since March. I would say that anyone applying today is probably going to be in for a 18-24 month wait. So...

French Immersion / schooling Canada

Unless your kids go to a French immersion school, there won't be a heavy French learning. Or possibly any French learning at all especially in places like Alberta. If your kids learning French is...

Re: Are we too old?

Your main problem is at 49 you get 0 points for age and the only way to make those points up is with Canadian experience or a Provincial nomination. Already having a job is actually a hindrance in...

Re: Legal Beagle in South Surrey BC

What stage of the process are you at? Usually in Canada you get a realtor, not a lawyer, to help with finding properties and making offers. A lawyer/notary only gets involved at the title transfer...

Re: MSP coverage when changing visas

I'm confused. Under Express Entry you shouldn't complete the medical until you have been selected from the pool. You don't need a medical to be in the pool and doing it earlier risks the medical...

Re: US Election 2020 - Predictions

Harris is a very skilled debater and I think she will do well against Pence.

Re: US Election 2020 - Predictions

There are not many undecideds left compared to previous years (is my understanding) and if the polls are accurate then Trump needs them more than Biden. It's hard to see how any undecided voters...

Re: US Election 2020 - Predictions

There wasn't this level of detail available. At the very least, it should be concerning to voters that he may soon owe $72 million to IRS and that there will be $300 million of personally guaranteed...

That's incorrect. Outside of urgent processing (which I don't think has happened too much if at all), people who applied in January/February are only now getting their AOR, they still have to wait...

Re: Coronavirus

And that's the problem with restrictions - when they work as intended, people come and say what was all the fuss over.
