Re: Taking teens from Scotland to NZ

Hi, all I can tell you is that bullying is a huge issue in NZ. Been here 15 years, previously spent 45 in the U.K. Bullying was not as wide spread in the U.K. IMHO. Here it seems to be prevalent in...

Re: Moving to New Zealand (Job opportunities)

Hi Ben,

I have had three part time jobs here in NZ. I will be honest, no point in being anything otherwise. In all three sectors, local council, private and the local health board bullying was...

Re: Moving to New Zealand (Advice on job opportunities)

Hi Ben,

Being a police officer still appears to be on the skills shortage list. Please see this link https://skillshortages.immigration.govt.nz/commissioned-police-officer/

To be honest this...

Re: 29yo should I move from Oz to Oxford with dog & BF?

If I were you? From what you have written? Stay in Oz. If the man does not like that...find one that does. Relationships should be about compromise. You sound well sorted in Oz. Sounds like you have...

F

A very good post, my sentiments entirely, been here in NZ 15 years. I would heed this advice. So, so much has changed in 15 years.

Re: Another "we're thinking of moving, please advise" thread!

To the OP, given what you have said I would stay where you are, if only for your original comments in your first post. The grass is always greener as they say. Add to that the advice from everyone...

Re: Thinking of emigrating - is it worth it?

TI agree with what others have said. Stay in the U.K. Be close to your family. Sounds like things will get better for you if your husband finds a less stressful job. NZ is an odd place, very isolated...

Re: Best age to relocate children?

The younger the better. I did it with twins aged two and their brother aged 4. I totally agree with the comments above. Older kids do do it but it is just harder for them. NZ is a great place to...

Re: Family of 4 considering move to New Zealand

Hi,

Your kids are the right age to make it better for them. If you are thinking of buying a house, like living here permanently, just a word of warning. NZ apparently has one of the highest median...

Re: Chances of everyone being in agreement?

It can happen and does. That said emigrating is a very, very big thing. For some it works out, for others it does not. I get that. There are many reasons you will make it ‘work’ or not as the case...

U.K. Passport renewal

As part of the new online U.K. passport procedure...which is wonderful I might add, you have to send your old passport back to the U.K.

NZ Post charges $94 odd for this, as it is a ‘prohibited...
