Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

Surely that's not specifically a feature of Land Rover? My VW has had the air bag light on since new and the Toyota hand break light goes on and off randomly. Dashboard warning lights are just a bit...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

I've been forced to upgrade my opinion of the drivers of BMW SUVs. This weekend we drove past one that wasn't on a road, it was on grass! Admittedly, it wasn't moving but I'm prepared to accept that...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

Ah, the 911, sporty in intent, interesting to drive, but a "sports car"? Not by any strictish definition. I suppose that's a "GT" too.

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

I'm not seeing that

http://www.instantautoinsurancequote.biz/safest-cars-of-2010.php

I'm seeing Volvo XC90, VW Polo, Vauxhall, Hyundai...

Still, I doubt that "safety" is in the top dozen...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

So the case for the BMW X5 is that it's safer than the competition?

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

What is the practical purpose of the BMW X5? Is it something other than the ability to carry four people and several bags of shopping back from the mall? If not, I suggest that the Ford Focus Wagon...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

I can understand that. Sometimes, when my car is my field, I interpret it as being a raised 4x4 truck. I think of myself simultaneously winning at the Mud Bog and the Tractor Pull.

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

I don't suppose I've seen either of those on the road, or if I have I've failed to pay any attention to them. Googling images of them, the first seems to be a BMW 3 series, a car for a small family...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

The definition doesn't change because you've felt the need for something more sensible. My diesel, a John Deere, more precisely captures the essence of a sports car than does any station wagon, no...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

That's a family sedan, is it not? The variant in the picture is not even that but a family wagon.

Some sports cars are: The Austin-Healey 100/4. The Lotus Elan. The Lotus Seven. The Morgan +8....

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

My brother has diesel BMW station wagon which I believe has twin turbochargers, I can't tell you the model because he paid the maker five thousand pounds to have it without badges and with a black...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

Heh!

Diesel, not a sports car.

Station wagon, not a sports car.

If what you want is a estate car and a diesel, I think you're limited to the Jetta.

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

I too live in the country and attend a fair number of horse related events. The vehicle of choice here at foxhunts, rodeos, hunter/jumper shows, racetracks and even (horse) meat auctions is, by a...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

I don't have a problem with BMWs in general, though the boot line on recent large BMWs always puts me in mind of a hamster I once had; it died but kept on shitting, building up an ugly ridge. I think...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

The manufacturers do. That's how they target their advertising. The BMW X5, for example, might feature in GQ, Hairdressers Monthly, Chelsea Parent while the closely equivalent Range Rover would be...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

The VW Routan minivan is the Chrysler minivan with the roof lowered or the seats raised or something. I'm too tall for it.

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

There aren't any Canadian cars. The nearest equivalent American models have been mentioned though I'd also suggest a 50s Caddy convertible with leopard print seats and one of those tinted visor...

Re: Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!

Last night I saw a television program called "Top Gear". I'm in Canada so it's a bit behind, the show featured the worst cars of 2004. The narrow winner was a Hyundai Diesel. Runner up was the BMW...
