Re: Pierre Poilievre

Those are assertions. Trudeau enacted the Emergencies Act.... you cannot seriously think PP would be worse than that when restricting personal freedoms. Anyways, time to take my own advice and knock...

Re: Pierre Poilievre

Trump, Trump Trump, eh? A few people I know have spouted similar assertions without any verifiable evidence to back them up. Trudeau has your number.

Anyways, happy thanksgiving to you.

Re: Pierre Poilievre

What is to be scared of? And what is the evidence for it? Are you not more scared of someone who invoked the emergencies act and froze peoples' bank accounts? Surely you are aware that the governing...

Re: Pierre Poilievre

Well at least you answered a direct question.

I agree that politicians are corupt but what Trudeau does is fling mud on social issues, instead of governing. Like I said, when asked about...

Re: Pierre Poilievre

On what score is he worse, I am genuinely curious?

I just watched some of the recent question period where PP was challenging the government on inflation over the cost of Thanksgiving dinner....

Re: Pierre Poilievre

You are wasting your time arguing on here if some of the remarkable comments are anything to go by. I am still learning about Poilevre and his platform, but one thing is mightily clear: black face,...

Re: Pierre Poilievre

Not many examples of his "utter tosh" being laid out on here. Certainly not enough to conclude "**** him".

Re: Pierre Poilievre

What utter tosh? I don't know that much about him yet but, apart from the Bitcoin thing, he seems to have a fairly reasoned position on most things. Certainly Trudeau and Freeland appeared to have...

Re: EXCHANGE RATE

Tongue in cheek, my old mucker. Doesn't matter what party they are from, they are all p*ss poor and shouldn't be near the levers of power. No idea how we get genuinely intelligent people in though.

Re: EXCHANGE RATE

Bring back Boris. One hardly knows what to say about that p*sh Truss and Kwarteng cooked up. If Starmer can't score plenty of goals now, he never will.

Re: Canada's Tropical Storm

It was quite a storm. Where I live only had a few downed trees and, thankfully, we never lost power. Internet service is out at home. Centre of Halifax, though, seems to have taken a bit of a...

Have you considered that the criticism may have been that he is murdering the song?

Re: Canada Recce Trip Advice

Oh don't worry mate, there is more than enough bitter division in Canada to keep you going. Thankfully it is easily avoided if you couldn't be bothered with it.

Re: Canada Recce Trip Advice

I am from Northern Ireland myself. There are, in my view, many similarities between NS and NI (and I mean that NI is still a bit on the backward side compared to the Republic - NS is quite backward...

Re: Canada Recce Trip Advice

I can confirm that the cost of houses in Nova Scotia, especially for what they are, which is pretty much an insulated garden shed, is ridculous just now. However, there do seem to be signs that this...

Re: TD Bank

I worked at TD briefly and the branch had a decent number of customers with overseas addresses. Go into your branch and explain the situation.

Re: Moving to Northern Ireland

It is one of actually very few things that would make me reluctant to move back, which is a shame. It is a great place but when you don't have to put up with the childish nonsense about every...

Re: Moving to Northern Ireland

And, for some reason, Bangor is drier than Carrick. It was always interesting watching rain move up the north shore of the lough whilst we were in sunshine. I guess it must cling to the Antrim...

Re: Moving to Northern Ireland

Thing about it is that, away from the immediate seafront streets, Bangor is not at all run down. Nearly all the schools have been rebuilt in the last 10 years or so, it has a cracking new leisure...

Re: Moving to Northern Ireland

Hi Tate,

Quite exciting times for you. Not often I read of people moving to Norn Iron, but it is a great spot... just mind you don't have too many Ulster Fries.

I grew up in Bangor, which is on...

Re: Liberal NDP coalition

I have no problem with the idea of pharamacare etc. I just don't believe, on the evidence so far, that Trudeau has the capabilities to deliver it. He is more interested in making big announcements,...

Re: Liberal NDP coalition

I will believe it when I see it (pharamacare etc.) Trudeau is only interested in what he wants... I suspect the NDP will end up like the Liberal Democrats at the end of this.

It is beyond pathetic...
