Re: Final decision

I can't give any advice on the work aspects. For your children I gather they were about 7-8, 4 and not born when you moved here. Realistically only the oldest child has any distinct memories of...

Re: Election 2021

Some posters on this forum still insist on it  Are you Nigel Farage in disguise.

Re: Anyone regret moving to Calgary?

One of the funniest of your many quips over the years.

Yoho would be a very cold place to spend a night outdoors in the winter.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Close to my background. Father from Lancashire (now part of Great Manchester), mother from Derbyshire and I was born and lived in Cheshire in between the places my parents grew up in.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I've watched most episodes of Seinfeld and Jerry to me was the weak link. He couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Watching Comedians getting coffee in Cars etc showed to me how self-absorbed...

Re: Election 2021

An ongoing decline in the number of party members elected might be the trigger that causes him to resign as leader. He is a master of saying lots but not saying much. I'd forgotten about the WE...

Re: Election 2021

I'm wondering what # of seats for the Liberals if they got a minority government would cause Justin Trudeau to resign from the leadership. Pre 2019 election they had 177 seats, post election they...

Re: Is it normal to feel instant regret?

10-15 'feet' of snow on the ground in November. Where do you live...at the top of a glacier on the highest peak in BC?

Re: Election 2021

I was between Liberal and PC but voted for neither in the last election and will not likely vote for either. I am quite disillusioned with the 'big 3' and have little to no trust in Justin Trudeau...

Re: Regret leaving Canada

I understand Jasper and Banff as good ski options and Tremblant has good runs etc (plus Mt St Anne, Le Massif and some places in New England) but honestly with Blue Mountain being as good as it gets...

Re: Trudeau

Details, details.....Trudeau is a master of these kind of statements. Why deal with monetary policy today when you can defer it to another day.

Re: Trudeau

Ever met the hangers on/sycophants or fart catchers or mandarins involved in the inner machinations of federal/provincial or local politics?. Now that is a serious collection of dull people.

Re: Goggle box- anything worth watching on TV?

You had me until the bolded reference. Sorry, just can't get into cricket other than brief highlights. :) It is on DAZN a bit. CBC Gem has a number of good shows on it. I'm thinking of switching to...

Re: Goggle box- anything worth watching on TV?

Sorry. I don't have Britbox but have Acorn but may switch to Britbox later in the year when the Acorn 1 year subscription ends and switch between the two. What do you find is worth watching on...

Re: New Federal Statutory Holiday (Canada)

Next to none. About as many who think of those who defend/defended the country on Remembrance Day other than at 11 am and then take the rest of the day off. The cynic in me smells an election...

Re: 79 Chemin Fraser

Souvy. He lived about 10 km away in a totally different 'world'. The area where this is located is right up against the Ottawa River in what was probably a cottage type community that grew. A...

Re: 79 Chemin Fraser

I'm sure any City employees won't have any real reprimand. I deal with the City of Ottawa daily and colleagues of mine have dealt with the Ville D'Gatineau. The Ville D'Gatineau made some grave...

As always, you are a voice of reason. You should be active on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). I'm sure you would enjoy it and find it useful and informative :(

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

That happened to our daughter who was suspicious of the landlords intentions and it turned out to be true. He never did end up renting to a 'family' member but had our daughter and her 3 room mates...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I am neither a tenant or a landlord but in my work know landlords and at least in Ontario, the odds seem to be all stacked in favour of the tenants. Evicting problem tenants is very difficult in...

Re: Canada to ban sales of conventional cars by 2035 - Trudeau

Wrong Rush song  That's Spirit of Radio, apparently a homage to CFNY a station that I don't associate with Rush too much. The 'mighty Q 107' is more of a Rush station.

2112 by Rush is...

Re: Canada to ban sales of conventional cars by 2035 - Trudeau

I think Gozit is too young for the Rush audience. I know dbd33 is a big fan. especially the sentiments and the lifestyle described in this song.
