Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

That sounds really CHEEKY!
Great if he got away with it....
else it sounds like the ultimate inquisition which, surely, nobody can comply with !!!

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

Total sense, Fiz.
It's all abundantly clear. Get the meds done in good time, I think... about 6 months before the anticipated visa date.
Thanks

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

Does validating the visa mean you actually go to Oz, Fiz?
If this is so, based on the assumption that it takes 15-18 months to get your visa, medicals etc can be done as early as 3-6 months after...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

Dear Katie & Fiz,
Your comments are so positive and supportive. Take the chance and think YES I always say. Don't the Aussies do that all the time? Isn't that why we're going there? Isn't it because...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

You're a gem. Fiz.
This is what I've wanted to know for ages!
I know we pass all the other balance of family, etc tests... but as you said right at the start of our correspondence, knowing you're...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

Does this mean people get their medicals done before a CO is appointed, Fiz?
I thought one had to wait for Perth to tell you which doctor to go to. Is this incorrect? Can you choose any doctor from...

Re: What to and What not to Ship?

The discussion on this topic has been SO useful, but we still feel that our "older" white goods - washing machine, dishwasher, cooker, etc are hardly worth shipping.
My main query is around antique...

Thanks.

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

No chance of that, Johnemo, but...
do they really have such big "poverty traps"? i.e. exceed the threshold by $1 and you get a $4,650 hit above $37,001?.. etc etc.
Also, is the first $6000 of ALL...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

One other point, Johnemo...
There are NO transaction fees for transferring from your UK pension to the Forex bank account, or more importantly, from Forex to your Oz account.
I can't believe this...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Part 5 - Visa/Immigration queries only please!!

I agree totally, Johnemo.
That's why I suggested transferring it directly into The FX Firm (or some similar) and from there into the Oz account (1 day only) in an earlier thread. I don't know...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - now sparkling lifestyle chat in Australia!!

Yes, I agree, With house prices expected to fall and exchange rates improve (albeit marginally to about ($1.65 - $1.70) in 12 months time, I think I'd stick to renting for 12 months too and take...
